Place of Worship
The present Chapel was believed to have been constructed in 1875, replacing an earlier Chapel of 1809. The building is principally of brick construction with stone dressings in a Gothic-style, and is singe storey under a pitched, slate tile clad roof. To the rear of the Chapel are the School rooms, which are planned over two floors, which are built in a similar style, but with brick arched headers to the windows. The property is set back slightly from High Street with stepped access and a small landscaped area to either side of the steps. This leads to a single storey entrance porch likely to have been constructed in the late 1970s/early 1980s, which is of brick and under a flat felted roof.
Internally there is a reception lobby with rooms off to the left and right, and access through to the Chapel, which is open plan with suspended ceilings having fluorescent strip lighting, carpeted floor, uPVC double glazed window and electric panel heaters. Through the Chapel is a side lobby with stairwell to the first floor and internal corridor leading to the rear school rooms, with gent’s/accessible wc, ladies wc, storage area, Vestry, kitchen, dining area and meeting room. To the first floor is a landing leading to a hall/meeting room which is open-plan with exposed roof trusses and metal crossbeams, carpeted floor, fluorescent strip lighting and uPVC double glazed windows.
Externally, there is a small parcel of land towards the rear, eastern boundary.
The gross internal areas (GIA’s) are as follows: -
2,789 sq.ft. (259.2 sq.m).
1,111 sq.ft. (103.2 sq.m).
3,900 sq.ft. (362.32 sq.m).
It is understood that mains gas, electricity, water and drainage are connected to the property. No tests have been undertaken, and no warranties are given or implied.
The property has previously been used as a Place of Worship, which falls within use Class F1 of the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987, (Amended) (England) Regulations 2022. The property offers potential for alternative uses, and we recommend that interested parties make their own enquiries with the local authority, North West Leicestershire District Council.
The property is situated on High Street within the village of Kegworth. The village is located towards the centre of the country and benefits from excellent transportation links with ease of access to junction 24 of the M1 motorway, together with the A42 and A453. Access is also afforded to East Midlands Parkway railway station together with East Midlands International airport, which is approximately two miles to the north-west.
