Shropshire land with permission to build 27 homes

A valuable slice of land in Shropshire with planning permission to build 27 homes is appearing at SDL Auctions Bigwood’s next auction in Birmingham.

The freehold land off Station Drive in Craven Arms will appear at the auction at Villa Park on Wednesday 6 September, with a *guide price in excess of £550,000+.

The development opportunity includes five three-bedroomed terraced houses, 12 one-bedroomed apartments and 10 two-bedroomed apartments.

Gurpreet Bassi, Head of residential auctions at SDL Auctions, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to buy and develop homes with outline planning permission already granted.

“It’s just one out of a total of 150 lots of all shapes and sizes from across the Midlands and wider UK appearing at what we predict will be a busy auction next month.”

The Craven Arms land was formerly home to the Temperance Hall Hotel at the junction of Station Drive and the A49 Shrewsbury Road, close to the town centre and next to the train station.

The majority of the buildings on the roughly triangular-shaped site of around 0.65 acres have been cleared, but certain demolition and site clearance works need to be completed.

Another Shropshire lot appearing at the auction is mixed residential and commercial property at 5 Church Street in Wellington, with a guide price in excess of £195,000+.

This freehold, mid-terraced town centre property is already bringing in rental of £20,900 a year and includes a barber’s shop, a café bar and a residential duplex apartment of four bedrooms.

Meanwhile, a detached, three-bedroomed house at 12 Stafford Road in Newport, with planning permission for a fourth bedroom, is also appearing at the auction with a guide price in excess of £180,000+.

Other star lots at the Birmingham auction include:

The auction takes place in the Holte Suite at Aston Villa FC from 10.30am on Wednesday 6 September.
